THE LODGING

Each of the six guest suites have jacuzzi tubs, AC, fireplaces and elegant oak furniture. Wi-Fi & satellite TV are available along with a library and lounge that is open to all guests. Considered to be a fine country inn, with a dynamite menu and an even more impressive “Wine Spectator Award” wine list to match. Access to the lodge’s private pond, which is full of Rainbow Trout, is just outside your door.

THE FISHING

The Gallatin River is just a 10 minute walk from the lodge, right across the hay meadows. The Gallatin flows over 90 miles with hundreds of small creeks adding to its flow. It originates from springs in Yellowstone Park and flows to Three Forks, the birthplace of the Missouri River. The three stretches of the Gallatin are the Meadow, Canyon and Valley.

The Meadow stretch extends approximately 30 miles from Yellowstone Park to Big Sky. (Riffle, run, pool are a classic in this section) Next, the Canyon stretch is about 25 miles through a narrow gorge. This classic section of the river was where scenes from Robert Redford’s “A River Runs Through It” were filmed. Deeper runs and pools offer great water for big browns, rainbows and the cut-bow. And finally: The Valley, which is classic western freestone water that extends about 35 miles & is home to the The Gallatin River Lodge. This section is great to wade for huge browns and rainbows. (This section is mainly braided through private ranch property. )

Other Rivers that you can access are, The East Gallatin River which runs north of town, surrounded mostly by private farmland with limited access. (It is located 20 minutes from the lodge.)

The Madison River is about 30 miles from the Lodge which offers great tailwater fishing, along with classic western style freestone river.

The Yellowstone River provides over 300 miles of fishable trout water and is home to the longest un-dammed trout stream in North America. Various spring creeks, streams & alpine lakes are within an ear shot from the lodge and offer many fishing opportunities for the angler on the fly.
