THE FISHING

The guides at Agua Boa have trained extensively, and are experience anglers them selves. While they are not bilingual, you will find them more then able to “communicate” to suit your fishing needs. Clients will fish two to a boat, with one guide. The fishing boats are 20ft aluminum skiffs with a poling platforms and four-stroke engines. Skiffs may accommodate two people fishing at one time. Most clients are on the water by 8:00am and off by 6:00pm, clients are guaranteed a 10 hr fishing day, however, Agua Boa can cater to your fishing needs and desires. The Agua Boa Lodge is located about 200 miles north-west of Manaus, on the Agua Boa river (aprox 150 miles in length), which is 1 of the 1,000 plus tributaries that feed into the Amazon River. Deep in the rain forest the Agua Boa River flows out of the Mocidade Mountains. The clear river and light sandy bottom are perfect for sight casting to cruising Peacock’s! Peacock Bass are known as one of the toughest game fish on the fly! Ranging 10-24 lbs they will go aerial like the Tarpon. With gills rattling they will go end over end before making a few more runs and then submerge themselves before giving up. These fish are unstoppable on the first few runs, they will wear you down if you don’t wear them down first!
