THE LENGTH OF STAY

El Pescador will accommodate any length of stay you wish! (Minimum of three days.) Typically we recommend a seven night/six day trip. Non-angler rates are also available.

THE LODGING

While staying with El Pescador, which was named one of the "Top 10 Luxury Eco- Resorts" by Forbes Traveler, you will be in for a treat. Located beach side, the main lodge is an intimate 12-room, one-suite hotel with a British colonial influence design. All rooms are air conditioned, have individual baths, ceiling fans and rod racks for your gear. The accommodations in the main lodge are clean & comfortable. The private beachfront Villas, are a collection of eight-luxury, three- bedroom “Island Style” homes set in two groupings, each surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens and a private pool. El Pescador offers top of the line rental gear for guests in a bind. They carry names such as; Scott, Sage, Ross, Tibor & Scientific Anglers. Its the only Scientific Angler fly shop on the island!

THE FISHING

During your stay at El Pescador, there are many opportunities to experience a variety of fishing scenerios. While Bonefish and Permit are found on the tidal and deepwater flats, you can chase smaller permit between the mangroves & islands. While wading the flats for Bonefish and Permit are fun, fishing is primarily done from 23 foot Skiffs or Mexican Pangas. Site fishing from Skiffs for Tarpon is extremely popular here, being that it is the largest Tarpon flat outside of South Florida. Ambergris Caye is one of a few spots that offers Tarpon fishing all year round! Resident Tarpon schools range from 20-80lbs and roam the flats in search of food all year. Migratory Tarpon range from 100-200lbs and arrive mid-June to mid- September. In addition to the great resident game fish, it is also not uncommon to see cruising Jacks & Snook back in the mangroves. You may also see Cobia, Snapper & Ladyfish!

(Although El Pescador is a fly fishing destination they offer many non-angling activities for the anglers companion.)
